This family grew up in this area and originally owned much of the property surrounding Brooks Farm.  Sometime around 1998, the property now known as Brooks Farm was sold to J. D. Brooks with the Homeland Development Group and was developed to include 76 home sites.

At this time period, Thomas Christian was also working as a builder for Millard Bowen of Bowen & Bowen Home Builders and was aware of this development under way at the time.
